multi-arts literacy enrichment coaching, classes & workshops

Do you know a budding writer who needs enriched opportunities? WHISPERshout’s small-group multi-arts enrichment classes offer drama, art, music & movement, and natural science mixed with poetryβ€”the perfect genre for beginning writers! I work with children starting wherever they are to develop skills and let their creativity loose. Look for me at select schools, or contact me for individual coaching and custom programs.

Has your child been writing poems at home or at school? Now they can see their poems published online! Click the image above to go to the WHISPER-shout Magazine site, or click the blue button to submit a poem and artwork by email.

Does your elementary-aged child need a boost in skills, application or confidence?  I can help. I’ll quickly assess where they are in reading and writing development and provide individualized support to move them forward in playful and motivating ways.

Heidi Mordhorst, MSEd, MA

What is a WHISPERshout Workshop?

In a WHISPERshout writing workshop, young readers and writers work in a small group of just 6 to 10 kids with veteran classroom teacher, published poet, and early years literacy specialist Heidi Mordhorst.  Most programs can also be adapted to the needs of a whole class.

Each program has a planned outline, but each week Ms. Heidi considers the needs and interests of the children in the group and adjusts the content to match.  Each child receives weekly individual support at their level of reading and writing development, while simultaneously participating in a socially and emotionally rich group literacy experience.

Class length is 75-90 minutes to allow time for the expert attention required by this creative/academic work. At the last class of each session, children present their work to an audience and take home a published product they can share with their families.
